Paris

So. It wasn't all just Disney. After 2 days of Disney we decided the grown ups needed a bit of culture... So we explained to our beloved wee twiglet that we would be going to Paris, not the Disneyland Paris, but the big Paris. (It was twiglet logic, you just gotta work with it).

Off we went to the very helpful ladies at the Tourist Information office were my big daft hubby proceeded to talk to a very nice and slightly bemused trainee tourist information employee in Spanish. When that failed he resorted to English in French accent in a Basil Fawlty sort of style. At this stage his devoted wife, ie me, descended into hysterical laughter and had to crouch down under the counter under the pretence of chastising Twiglet for comprehensively rearranging all the tourist leaflets. Once composed I popped my head up again and told the nice lady we wanted to go see the Eiffel Tower. 'Ahh', she said, produced a couple of maps, 3 train tickets and off we went.

'I only did Spanish at School!' protestd hubby on the train. God love him.

Got off train, walked round corner and was hit with fairly fabulous view. Was Twiglet overawed? Not exactly but she did enjoy chasing the pigeons.

We then proceeded to the 'I fall' Tower. Had a lovely picnic in the park beside the Tower. Twiglet feed her lunch to the pigeons. By now she wanted to take one home with her.

Then off to Notre Dame. Note pigeons in foreground of this picture. I think you can guess what happened next.

Then to the Louvre. It is seriously big. I knew this, but it's the sort of thing you don't quite appreciate until you're actually there.

As you can see Twiglet really started to soak up the culture and appreciate the grandeur of her surroundings. Oh and the pigeons...

Soooo fun. How Parisian of you to have a picnic. Looks like the weather was okay!

I am behind, but it certainly looks like you had a wonderful time. I envy you Paris. Not Euro-Disney, however.
