Love is a worm on the nose.

The Twig starts school soon and I've been thinking back to when I started school (a few years back I hear you chortle) and I remember my first day, not vividly and I'm sure time has edited it somewhat selectively, but I remember it nonetheless. One of the things I remember most about starting school is Gavin (second name withheld to protect the innocent). I was deeply besotted by Gavin, even at the tender age of five. He would balance worms on his nose and on the toggles of his duffle coat. How more cool could a boy be to a five year old, he was a rebel and I got my taste for the bad boys young. Anyway I'm telling you this because I want you to think back to your first crush and I hope you weren't that old before I tell you about the Twig.

Today is Monday and on a Monday my Mum and Dad are on Twig duty. They took her swimming where she decided to take a bit of a shine to one of the life guards. So much so she refused to leave the pool, tilted her head to the side to flash him a grin when he passed and swam (complete with her arm bands) to the side to talk to him when opportunity allowed. Then declared to her Gran, 'I think I'd like him for a boyfriend'.

When she was in the bath tonight I asked her what this boy looked like. 'Well he had curly hair and it was brown and he had on a yellow t-shirt and blue shorts and white socks with a stripe on them white shoes.' A worryingly detailed description.

'Don't you think that maybe he's a bit old for you?'

'Well sometime you can have older boyfriends' she replied.

You think? I just hope that that life guard never puts a worm on his nose.

PS

Crazy golf - she scored two hole in ones. Tiger eat your heart out.

Oooooh. Me likey new blog format. Good stuff!
My first school class included a boy called Odie who used to stare at me inches away from my face to annoy me. I remember the crayola crayons we got to have. Ahhh school, the memories. No more swimming pool for Charlotte!

I chased a boy called Richard who wore a fetching brown bomber jacket in a seventies styley!

I am worried for the Twiglet she will be part of Cheree's Leisure Club Crew before you know it!
