An Act of God
Well God's not funny this week. I was due to go to California tomorrow, for work, a conference in Disneyland no less. I had worried about strikes delays and the ususal stuff but brother, I had not banked on a ruddy great Volcano in Iceland. Poor Iceland. So I'm not going. In the meantime I have grown addicted to this blog which seems to be the best source of info on all Volcanically impacted travel arrangements. Isn't the interweb thingy just wonderful? On the upside I no longer have to keep my hideous secret from Charlotte, ie going to Disneyland without her, and it's sunny here and it's a long weekend. Sunny enough for a pint this evening while shorty plays on the beach. Stonehaven does have it's charms....

I saw your facebook update and thought, hmm, budget cuts? but just ten minutes ago, my husband read me the story about the volcano and the extent of the impact on travel. Having just recently been to California and being a little bit high on its beauties, I'm sorry you don't get to go--but it sounds like a nice thing there, that sunny day, long weekend, etc. Hope you're not massively disappointed.
